"Malnik is an attorney who had close ties to mobster Meyer Lansky and was at one time considered Lansky's 'heir apparent.'"

My understanding is that the overwhelmingly undisputed "heir apparent" was always one Mo Dalitz.

Friends of Michael Jackson will tell you there was no connection between Malnik and Lansky. At The Forge, upstairs in the old casino, in 1977, Lansky’s s epson, Dick Schwartz, murdered Craig Teriaca, son of a Mob figure, after a quarrel over $10. BTW, Richard Nixon partied at The Forge.
Random Daily News Jul 1, 2009 ... The article noted that Mr. Malnik's father, Al Malnik, the restaurant's prior owner, was also the lawyer for the late mobster Meyer Lansky.
