University of Illinois Chancellor Richard Herman apologized Tuesday for his role in a far-reaching admissions scandal but said he has no plans to resign.
"I am sorry for my role in this without a doubt," he said in a brief interview with the Tribune, among his first public remarks since a state commission concluded last week that he acted unethically in admitting subpar but well-connected students.
