Fake “Study” of Aspartame Released
Edited by Alex Constantine
Aspartame Deemed Safe By Expert Panel
Science Daily — A sweeping review of research studies of aspartame says there is no evidence that the non-nutritive sweetener causes cancer, neurological damage or other health problems in humans.
Looking at more than 500 reports, including toxicological, clinical and epidemiological studies dating from 1970’s preclinical work to the latest studies on the high-intensity sweetener, along with use levels and regulations data, an international expert panel from 10 universities and medical schools evaluated the safety of aspartame for people of all ages and with a variety of health conditions.
Their study is published in the September issue of Critical Reviews in Toxicology.* It was FUNDED BY AJINOMOTO COMPANY, INC., A MANUFACTURER OF ASPARTAME. …
In addition to Bernadene Magnuson, the Expert Panel included: George. A. Burdock, the Burdock Group; John Doull, University of Kansas Medical School; Robert M. Kroes, Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences, Utrecht, The Netherlands; Gary M Marsh, University of Pittsburgh; Michael W. Pariza, University of Wisconsin; Peter S. Spencer, Oregon Health and Science University; William J. Waddell, University of Louisville Medical School; Ronald Walker, University of Surrey, Great Britain; and Gary M.Williams, New York Medical School.
BERNADENE MAGNUSON, THE PANELIST QUOTED BY THE MEDIA ON THE “SAFETY” OF ASPARTAME, IS AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND’S COLLEGE OF AGRICULTRE – ALSO A NANOMATERIALS SPECIALIST – ON THE TAKE. From the Maryland Nanocenter web site:

In a few animal experiments, aspartame has been linked to hematopoietic and brain cancers.
Most animal studies have found no increase in the risk of these or other cancers.
Data on humans are sparse for either cancer.
Concern lingers regarding this widely used artificial sweetener.
We investigated prospectively whether aspartame consumption is associated with the risk of hematopoietic cancers or gliomas (malignant brain cancer).
We examined 285,079 men and 188,905 women ages 50 to 71 years in the
NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study cohort
Daily aspartame intake was derived from responses to a baseline self-
administered food frequency questionnaire that queried consumption of
four aspartame-containing beverages (soda, fruit drinks, sweetened
iced tea, and aspartame added to hot coffee and tea) during the past
Histologically confirmed incident cancers were identified from eight
state cancer registries.
Multivariable-adjusted relative risks (RR) and 95% confidence
intervals (CI) were estimated using Cox proportional hazards
regression that adjusted for age, sex, ethnicity, body mass index, and
history of diabetes.
During over 5 years of follow-up (1995-2000), 1,888 hematopoietic cancers and 315 malignant gliomas were ascertained.
Higher levels of aspartame intake were not associated with the risk of overall hematopoietic cancer (RR for >/=600 mg/d, 0.98; 95% CI,
0.76-1.27), glioma (RR for >/=400 mg/d, 0.73; 95% CI, 0.46-1.15; P for inverse linear trend = 0.05), or their subtypes in men and women.
Our findings do not support the hypothesis that aspartame increases
hematopoietic or brain cancer risk. PMID: 16985027
“We cannot exclude the possibility that higher aspartame consumption
than that observed in this study may be associated with an elevated
risk of hematopoietic or brain cancers.
In the laboratory study with positive findings, animals were fed doses
starting from 4 mg up to 5,000 mg per kg body weight.
Significantly elevated lymphomas and leukemias were observed in female
rats fed 20 mg of aspartame and higher (e.g., 1,200 mg for humans
weighing 60 kg or 132 lb; refs. 13, 14).
The reported aspartame intake in our data ranged from 0 to 3,400 mg/d
with sparse numbers in the upper intake categories (<1% consuming ≥1,200 mg/d). However, we did not detect any increase in risk estimates in the highest categories (>1,200 or 2,000 mg/d, which is equivalent to ~7 to 11 cans of soft drinks daily) compared with the lowest categories, and the associations were similarly null in both men and women.”
[ This is the first good data about the percentage of aspartame users who use over 6 cans daily.
About 1% of 473,984 is 4700 people, with a peak intake of 17 cans daily.
It would be worthwhile to investigate a wide variety of symptoms for the 0.1% of highest level users, about 470 people.
Naturally, I want to cut to the chase with pertinent critical comments, often giving quotes from the ASE text and its 415 references:
“As aspartame is completely hydrolyzed following intake, studies employing either intraperitoneal administration or direct exposure of cells in vitro to intact aspartame do not reflect human exposures and therefore, must be carefully interpreted.” [ Spot on! ]
3.1.1 [ 22 mg ingested aspartame releases 2.4 mg methanol, which is 11% of the aspartame. Stegink, 1987
Fully 11% of aspartame is methanol — 1,120 mg aspartame in 2 L diet soda, almost six 12-oz cans, gives 123 mg methanol (wood alcohol). If 30% of the methanol is turned into formaldehyde, the amount of formaldehyde, 37 mg, is 18 times the USA EPA limit for daily formaldehyde in drinking water, 2 mg in 2 L water.
For instance, hangover researchers claim that it is the ~150 mg/L methanol impurity, about one part in 10,000, twice the level from aspartame in diet sodas, in dark wines and liquors that, turned into formaldehyde and then formic acid, is the major cause of the dreadful symptoms of “morning after” hangover’ ]

Metabolism of aspartame in monkeys.
Oppermann JA, Muldoon E, Ranney RE.

Division of G.D. Searle and Co. Box 5110, Chicago, IL 60680
They found that about 70% of the radioactive methanol in aspartame put
into the stomachs of 3 to 7 kg monkeys was eliminated within 8 hours,
with little additional elimination, as carbon dioxide in exhaled air
and as water in the urine.
They did not mention that this meant that about 30% of the methanol
must transform into formaldehyde and then into formic acid, both of which
must remain as toxic products in all parts of the body.
They did not report any studies on the distribution of radioactivity in body tissues, except that blood plasma proteins after 4 days held 4% of the initial methanol.
This study did not monitor long-term use of aspartame. ]
3.1.5 ” Ilback et al. (2003) surveyed 1120 diabetics and reported that average daily intakes of aspartame by children and adult diabetics were below the ADI, for both the top 5% and 10% consumers.
Worst-case intakes were calculated for the 10 diabetic children [ 0.1 % of adults and children ] consuming the highest amounts of artificially sweetened foods and using the highest concentrations of sweetener allowed in food products.
The worst-case calculation was based on the following assumptions: (1) All sweeteners found in the diet were replaced by aspartame; (2) the level of aspartame in foods was the maximum allowed by regulations, not the concentration actually used in the foods; and (3) the intake was based on the highest reported consumption of 10 diabetic children consuming the highest amounts of artificially sweetened foods.
These worst-case calculations showed that consumption by this small
subpopulation would exceed the ADI by only a small percentage (about 114% of the ADI), and thus the authors concluded that there is a sufficient safety margin for aspartame, even in high consuming diabetics in a single time point (Ilback et al., 2003). ”
“Therefore, a short period of exposure slightly above the ADI is not considered to pose any significant risk (Larsen and Richold, 1999).”
3.5 “Methanol generated from aspartame is estimated to average 33 mg/day or 0.55 mg/kg bw/day for a 60-kg individual.
For individuals in the 95th percentile the estimated methanol consumption figures are 93.9 mg/day or 1.57 mg/kg bw/day for a 60-kg individual.” [ three times more than the average ]
[ Well, 114% of the European ADI of 40 mg/kg bw/day for a 60-kg teenager gives 2,736 mg aspartame daily, with the 11% methanol 301 mg daily, so 30% retention of cumulative durable toxic products of formaldehyde and formic acid would be 90 mg daily — 2700 mg a month.
About 150 mg methanol impurity in ordinary liquors produces “morning
after” hangovers, due to the conversion of methanol into formaldehyde
and formic acid.
It is urgent to assess the specific health status of this “small subpopulation” of teenage diabetics who endure these remarkable toxic exposures.
Many aspartame reactors used over 12 12-oz cans daily diet soda for years. At 200 mg each, this is 2400 mg daily aspartame, 264 mg methanol, and at 30%, 80 mg retained formaldehyde and formic acid products — disposition, biochemistry, and concentrations unknown as yet to world science.
This fundamental crucial ignorance is hardly grounds for ingeniously dismissing every one of hundreds of mainstream research reports and thousands of individual cases by informed professionals and affected people.
Yet, this is all that is offered the ASE review, by a paid expert panel set up by the Burbank Group, funded by Ajinomoto.
The greatest gift of science to humanity since 1600 is the vision of unfettered, yet disciplined, curiosity, publicly and respectfully shared, about all aspects and levels of our infinite reality.
Questions raised generate partial answers, which open up ever expanding frontiers of more questions, within a overall richness of understanding and subtlety of communication that is profoundly meaningful, awesomely beautiful, and of the greatest practical value.
Like all the other previous reviews, invariably committee work at its worst, the ASE review, fails totally at being curious, at spotting telling details (where frisky devils cavort), acknowledging fundamental unknowns, and raising pointed questions to inspire their peers.
Once again, good, intelligent, trained, experienced, dedicated, earnest scientists have failed themselves and science, by acquiescing to participation, true, very well paid, in a ceremonial public ritual dance of groupthink to support vast vested interests.
Once again, the good tidings are immediately proclaimed in a global media campaign, a Katrina deluge of relentless, repetitious, pious, preaching — Our witch doctors have met and burned much incense, the baleful concerns are all laid to rest, so go ye villagers and consume ye yet more in peace.
Once again, but with some progress.
Now, there are many times more references, with more on recent studies.
Now, there is explicit discussion, or at least mention, of areas of ignorance.
Now, at least on the edge of the table of discourse, are closely related fields of methanol, formaldehyde, formic acid, alcohol hangover, MSG, additives, tobacco, addiction, vehicle exhaust, diet, genetic variation, drug interactions, the many new modern diseases, whole population epidemiology, global data bases mining — all growing exponentially, all intimately, instantly linked on the Net.
Now, every match sets off fire.
Now, there are Net groups with permanent, open archives, where citizens and experts colaborate on every problem, ie opportunity.

The ASE review will ignite a new level of creative world collaboration to finally remove gratuitous toxins.
This is the purpose of this critical review.
Now, corporations are inevitably competing to maximize the health, energy, clarity, intelligence, sanity, and creative productivity not only of their staff, but their customers, and all people.
A huge opportunity: find a safe, inexpensive process to remove all methanol from alcohol beverages, solving the billion-dollar disease of alcohol hangovers.
A corporate tipping point: whether to continue the mistake of continiung to bet the ranch on a single highly profitable, but sadly toxic product, in a radically uncontrolled information environment that can this year produce a Enron-level meltdown, with tedious, hundred billion dollar civil and criminal liabilities, a la tobacco, or immediately shut down the operation, release all secret files and research, and set up hundred billion dollar funds to recompense individuals and governments, while funding independent groups to definitively study the health issues — which can rapidly lead to good business opportunities.
Corporations probably best cooperate to expedite this forward moving
ASE members and Burdock Group: The ASE review should be made available
for free on the Net, along with the full text of the references and many more related studies and a open, public archive, unedited public action group for civil discussion and collaboration.
All financial and secrecy contracts should be made public, along with the details of the history of meetings and communications, especially how dissent and conflict were managed……for much more …
Ajinomoto, Aspartame & Brain Tumors: Recipe for Death

Enough of Ajinomoto’s propaganda. Movie exposes Don Rumsfeld getting aspartame approved when FDA said no, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World, www.docworkers.com In original studies aspartame triggered brain tumors, mammary, uterine, ovarian, testicular, pancreatic and thyroid tumors, as well as grand mal seizures. Triggers birth defects, ADD and ADHD, autism.
Ajinomoto, is the Japanese producer of aspartame. It’s sold as NutraSweet, Equal, E-951, Spoonful and under dozens of other aliases. This poison is in thousands of foods and drinks, especially “Diet” Coke, and similar sodas. A library of case histories by victims and their doctors, and a mountain of medical research tell the tale of toxicity which Ajinomoto is striving to silence. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050801/dcm060.html?.v=100
This propaganda has been answered for years complete with medical references. See http://www.holisticmed.com/aspartame/offasprt.html
We seem to hear a lot about mass murderers these days: insane, demonic sociopaths who thrill to the terror and agony they inflict. On a gigantic scale history names great masters of destruction: Who can number those slain by Hitler, Stalin, and Mao? To collect such a stupendous price the mind of the people must be saturated with propaganda, packaged lies relentlessly fire-hosed into the public consciousness until the world is upside down: evil is virtue; slaughter is holiness, dying for the emperor, the fatherland and the 1,000 year Reich or a twisted religion is the supreme glory. All these crimes breed in the egocentric brains of ambitious morally stunted men full of hubris and hate, consumed with pride & greed.
The same greed, the same hubris, the identical fatal fanaticism resides in the boardrooms of gigantic corporations. Consider Enron, WorldCom, Arthur Anderson and the French medicos who released AIDS-contaminated blood for transfusions. When the crime surfaced these guardians of health sold the sewage to poor nations there to infect millions for generations to come. Heinous condemnation of millions to lingering death! Would not a fair price be to infect these despicable, heartless human scum with their own vaccines? Instead these lords of liquidation with lettered names retire to their chateaus, servants and limousines to tally blood money. Twenty years later they dine in smart cafes and saunter the streets of Paris unpunished! The crime was so deep, the bloodguilt so broad, that a hundred mass murderers got a free pass! “O the Humanity, the Humanity.”
Phillip Morris, Coca-Cola and Ajinomoto belong to the same crew, dealing death with poisons that sicken, ruin and murder millions. USA tobacco deaths are 300,000/year; small change when measured by the murders of Ajinomoto, and all it’s daughter purveyors of deadly aspartame, including Kellogg, Wrigley, Wyeth, Coke & Pepsi, Smuckers and hundreds of scorpions from the same nest. With the power of continuous artillery bombardment their ads fire the poison down the throats of helpless children and all of us! Their experts cry: “Ridiculous it’s harmless!” Blood brothers are they to the French medicos, and they’ll surely kill as many!
In 1977 the Food and Drug Administration was on your side when Chief Counsel Richard Merrill recommended to U.S. Attorney Sam Skinner that a grand jury investigate G. D. Searle Co. for “apparent violations of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and the False Reports to Government Act for their “willful and knowing failure to make reports to the FDA and for concealing material facts and making false statements in reports of animal studies conducted to establish the safety of aspartame.” FDA called special attention to studies aspartame’s effect on monkeys and hamsters. In one test on 7 infant monkeys five had grand mal seizures and one died. You and your friends have now the honor of being the replacement monkeys.
The asparkillers were caught flatfooted. Defense was impossible! What to do? What to do? Hire the prosecutors! The defense attorneys hired Skinner. While he was supposedly working up a case against aspartame he negotiated a job with the other side. Skinner didn’t leave the Justice Department right away, he dawdled till the statute of limitations was about to run out so the corporate criminals can never be brought to justice.
But FDA held true and for 16 years denied aspartame approval, repeatedly focusing on the matter of brain tumors. Then Ronald Reagan was elected and the CEO of G.D. Searle went to Washington as Secretary of Defense. His name was Donald Rumsfeld. That Donald Rumsfeld! He called in his markers and a new FDA Commissioner, Hayes, was appointed to override the objections of the FDA scientific Public Board of Inquiry. Ignored were all considerations of life & health, this was a matter of greed & profit. Quickly the deed was done, then Hayes took his golden parachute and hired on as a “consultant” to NutraSweet’s PR firm for a reported ten year contract at $1,000/day. He hasn’t been heard from since. Who has ever heard of a public relations guy who won’t talk?
Rumsfeld’s act is so common knowledge you can see it in film, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World, http://www.docworkers.com And the clip where James Turner, Attorney, explains how Rumsfeld called in his markers – http://www.soundandfury.tv/pages.rumsfeld2.html
Once upon a time a Delaney Amendment was passed by a cautious Congress caring for our health. It made it illegal for foods to contain any carcinogenic, cancer producing, substances. The late FDA Senior Toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross, told Congress: “Beyond a shadow of a doubt aspartame triggers brain tumors…. by allowing aspartame to be placed on the market, the FDA has violated the Delaney Amendment….Given the cancer causing potential of aspartame, how would the FDA justify its position that it views a certain amount of aspartame as constituting an allowable daily intake or “safe” level of it? Is that position not equivalent to setting a ‘tolerance’ for this food additive and thus a violation of that law? And if the FDA itself elects to violate the law who is left to protect the health of the public?” Congressional Record SID835:131 Aug 1, 1985 The carcinogenicity has newly been confirmed by a three-year study by the European Foundation for Oncology and Environmental Sciences which revealed it causes leukemia, lymphoma and malignant brain tumors. Their 14 July 05 report declares: “The results demonstrate…that aspartame is a carcinogenic agent.”
Gruesome evidence is reported in USA Today of brain cancer in Gulf War vets. They have twice the normal rate. The article links the affliction to Sarin, the nerve gas, but Sarin doesn’t produce brain cancer, and aspartame does. Pallets of diet drinks cooked in the Arabian sun for weeks which the dehydrated troops drank constantly. Would you believe that the National Soft Drink Association actually submitted a long and specific protest against the approval of aspartame as a soda pop sweetener? Their multiple objections are in the Senate Congressional Record 5/7/85. It told how the hotter aspartame gets the quicker it breaks down. Breaks down into formaldehyde, methyl alcohol, formic acid (fire ant venom) diketopiperazine and several additional toxins. Arabia is the hottest place on Earth, and the flower of American youth drank boiled aspartame, formaldehyde cocktails, for months. Read the protest on http://www.dorway.com.
Notice it says that Section 402 of the FDC Act 21 provides a food is adulterated if it contains, in whole or in part “…a decomposed substance or if it is otherwise unfit for food.” The National Soft Drink Assoc. in their protest against aspartame approval in l983 recorded this, as found in the Congressional Record of May 7, l985, Page S 5509, Senate. Read a list of crimes committed in the approval process http://www.dorway.com/crimes.txt These were reported to Janet Reno in 2000 but she ignored them, and wouldn’t even answer.
Amanda Hughes, who drank a dozen or more D-Cokes daily developed a pair of brain tumors, an astrocytoma entangled in an oligodendroglioma. Her doctor sent her to Audie Murphy Veteran’s Hospital, where she found 70 Persian Gulf vets in a brain tumor support group, and asked why would they send her to a military oncologist unless they had many brain tumor cases. I wrote to Dr. Pamela New about this, but she replied neither to me or Amanda. Few medics have the courage to face the lion and prevent their charges from dying. Political Correctness abides in the halls of health, no matter how many die!
Die like Juan Heredia: weep for him: A co-worker relates the waste of his life: “I was thinking last night, about aspartame and all the health problems and death it can cause, then all of a sudden an old co-worker’s name popped in my head, Juan Heredia. He and I started with Coca Cola back in 1991 he was a fit, healthy guy, good humored, fun guy to be around with, could take a joke and stuff, I remember he always drank D. Coke all the time, he was health conscious, he was a flirt with the ladies so he wanted to be fit. He told me I should start drinking D. Coke and I told that him I did not like the taste … We got hired into different groups, and years went by and I saw him at a company picnic still looking healthy and drinking D. Coke.
“A couple of years passed again and I saw a co-worker from his group and asked him how Juan was doing. He told me Juan had died, I said, no way, how? From a brain tumor!!!! He told me it was weird, that he worked till just a week before he died!!! He was diagnosed with the brain tumor months before he died but he kept working!!!! He couldn’t talk but he was able to fix the fountain equipment!!! For him Coke was the Big league, and he loved his job. I think that’s why he kept working!!! Now I believe that the aspartame is what killed him!!!! He drank D. Coke every day. In the Coke environment you have easy access to drink as much as you want!!!”
For 14 years I’ve sounded the aspartame-kills alarm, says Martini, for no commercial purpose, we sell nothing and beg for nothing; nor have we ever consumed this killer ourselves. The project is not mine alone; a phalanx of renowned doctors, professionals and earnest volunteers worldwide proclaim the truth that aspartame is death. All the evidence is on public record, incontrovertible! But on a much more basic level, as a Christian, married to a minister, I reflect on the moral corruption making this atrocity possible. It resides in the hearts of venal men who will cheerfully commit any crime for power and cash. Foul, sadistic, intentionally blind are they to the mangled lives and magnitude of their genocide. Amen, a judgment awaits them!
ACCESS THESE SITES TO VERIFY ASPARCIDE: Ajinomoto publishes press releases on the ingredients being harmless. They never debate the issue, just shout and call names. Here is a letter they’ve refused to answer for years: http://www.wnho.net/ajinomotoletter.html

Manufacturers of aspartame run and hide when their whoppers are brought to the public. Complete silence! If their ingredients are so harmless why are they afraid to answer these accusations?
We are now taking brain tumor case histories in New York, New Jersey, Mississippi and Madison County for litigation.

When aspartame manufacturers are involved laws are ignored. My Citizens Petition for ban of Aspartame by law must be answered in 180 days. The FDA told me they have more important things to do. It’s been over 3 years. Is the FDA Ajinomoto’s Washington Branch office?
Aspartame interacts with all drugs and toxins and vaccines and children are afflicted with ADD, ADHD, Tourettes, autism and behavioral problems. It also has a synergistic and additive effect with MSG. A new study by Sharon Fowler of University of Texas links diet pop with obesity. In recent national news they say they will leave in schools the diet and low calorie (Coke Zero with aspartame) pop, and this is the biggest cause of the obesity epidemic. Aspartame also can precipitate diabetes, aggravate and simulate diabetic retinopathy and neuropathy, destroys the optic nerve and even interacts with insulin. But nobody seems to care even the American Diabetes Association who takes money from industry and pushes the propaganda. Don’t think American Beverage doesn’t know how deadly aspartame is and that it was illegal to add to pop since they quoted the law making it a crime, Section 402 of the FDC Act 21. They may have changed their name from National Soft Drink Assn, but the news on the toxin remains the same. Their entire protest, part of the congressional record, is on http://www.dorway.com
Go to http://www.wnho.net and http://www.dorway.com and read expert’s reports and government records, then be outraged enough to stop the mass poisoning of the public from this toxic poison, aspartame. Enough is enough.

A sweet poison
The artificial sweetener Aspartame was not approved until 1981, for eight years previously the U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) refused to approve it because of the seizures and brain tumours it produced in lab animals. Eventually the substance was approved when the FDA Commissioner who refused to approve the substance, was replaced.
Now the artificial sweetener can be found in all our supermarkets, in many food and drinks, the majority of these are diet products but the substance is becoming more frequently used in none diet varieties; even some baby food products now contain this substance.
My experience of Aspartame poisoning begins a few years ago. I decided to substitute an artificial sweetener for sugar; I was on a health kick at the time. I have always had a very sweet tooth and instead of my usual 3 sugars, I added several sweeteners, sometimes as many as five. I had also recently discovered AquaDrop sweets, which I now know are also a source of Aspartame. Little did I know I was being slowly poisoned by this toxic sweetener and within a short time I had become very ill, violent stomach cramps, headaches and problems sleeping where now a part of my life. My doctor put it down to IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), so I proceeded to analyse my diet, but no matter what food I eliminated my problems persisted and in fact were worsening. Months of hospital tests followed, their conclusion was that nothing could be found and they put it down to a severe case of IBS also. During this time I was drinking lots of natural herbal tea, little did I know that by not adding sugar I was instead contaminating this drink with a very unnatural poison, Aspartame. It was only when I started drinking the same herbal tea minus the sweetener that my stomach cramps and other health problems eased. It probably didn’t seem like it at the time, but it seems I was lucky as I had a quick reaction to the substance. The majority of people do not have a quick reaction, instead they are slowly poisoned and their problems are only highlighted when a major physical problem manifests itself, by then it is often too late.
Research has found Aspartame ingestion causes long-term damage, as the chemicals the sweetener breaks down into, do not eliminate from your system and therefore build up until they reach a critical level.
Aspartame (L-Aspartyl-l-phenylalanine methyl ester) breaks down in the body in to the following toxic chemicals:
Methyl Alcohol 67-56-1: Methanol
Methyl Formate 107-31-3: Formic Acid, Methyl Ester
Formaldehyde (embalming fluid): Formalin
Methanol/wood alcohol is a deadly poison. Methanol is gradually released in the small intestine when the methyl group of aspartame encounter the enzyme chymotrypsin. Methanol (without ethanol, the natural antidote) breaks down into formic acid (ant-sting poison) and formaldehyde (embalming fluid) in the body, both are toxic and Formaldehyde is a deadly neurotoxin. The phenyalalanine breaks down into diketopiperazine (DKP), a known brain tumour agent.
Methanol absorption into the body is sped up considerably when free methanol is ingested. Free methanol is created from aspartame when it is heated to above 86 Fahrenheit (30 Centigrade). Therefore any Aspartame products that are heated could well be even more dangerous, quickening the symptoms and damage caused.
